Capitalism: Convenience or Control?
In the world we live in, capitalism is sold as freedom. But what happens when that freedom is just a well-designed illusion?
The Illusion of Choice
You walk into a store with hundreds of brands—but they’re all owned by the same 10 companies. That’s not real choice. It’s just competitive branding designed to make you feel like you're in control. In reality, your decisions are funneled through a narrow system built to benefit the top 1%.
The Profit First Mentality
Under capitalism, profit always comes before people. It shows up in:
Price hikes without product improvements
Planned obsolescence (products designed to break early)
Labor exploitation masked as “internships” or “hustle culture”
Massive advertising budgets used to guilt or manipulate you into spending
None of this is random. It’s systemic.
The Real Cost
Capitalism doesn’t just affect your wallet—it affects your trust. Companies are trained to use you, not serve you. They collect your data, sell it behind your back, and design experiences to addict you, not to help you.
And then they slap a smiley logo on top.
So What's the Alternative?
Wavyst doesn’t pretend to have all the answers. But we believe in starting from transparency, low cost, and mutual respect. Services shouldn't require selling your soul or data.
